Speakers

Companion of the Canadian Business Hall of Fame and the Investment Industry Hall of Fame, Monique Leroux is a corporate director. She served as Chair of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardins Group, the leading cooperative financial group in Canada, from March 2008 to April 2016, and as Chair of the Board of Investissement Québec from 2016 to 2020. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors (F.ICD) and an independent director of Michelin (ML), Bell (BCE), S&P Global (SPGI), Couche‐Tard (ATD) and Lallemand (privately‐owned company). She acts as Strategic Advisor at Fiera Capital and Deputy Chairman (Canada) of the Trilateral Commission. She also chaired the Québec government’s Advisory Council on the Economy and Innovation and was a member of the Canada‐ United States Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders. In May 2020, Ms. Leroux was appointed Chair of the Industry Strategy Council by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry of Canada.

From April 2017 to July 2019, Mr. Steinberg was Chair Emeritus of Norton Rose Fulbright Canada. Previously, Mr. Steinberg was Co-Chair and then Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright and its predecessor firm, Ogilvy Renault. He was also Global Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright, one of the largest law firms in the world with 4000 lawyers in 60 offices. Mr. Steinberg is also a member of Board of Directors of Fiera Capital and Dorel Industries, Senior Advisor to Persistence Capital Partners, Chair of the Board of Governors of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Chair of The McGill University Health Centre Foundation and Canadian Co-Chair of the Australia-Canada Economic Leadership Forum.
