In 2021, despite the pandemic, a record number of renowned organizations have submitted their application to obtain Women in Governance’s Parity Certification. We proudly unveiled the latest cohort of certified organizations on International Women’s Day, and we are now delighted to invite them and all those interested in joining the movement to our annual Parity Forum!
The panel discussion will feature esteemed members of our Parity Certification’s consultant partners:
- Susannah Crabtree, Partner and Member of the Canadian Leadership Team at Mercer Canada
- France Dufresne, Canadian Market Leader – Employee Experience and M&A at WTW
- Ly Nguyen, Women’s ERG National Co-Lead at Accenture
Nicole Piggott, WiG’s Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Synclusiv will moderate the panel, which will deep dive into the importance of intersectionality as well as the impacts of the pandemic in the workplace and on the workforce, specifically women.
Catherine Diplock, Operations Manager, Parity Certification at WiG will provide an overview of our 2021 certified organizations’ Consolidated Report, touching upon the latest cohort’s strengths and areas of improvement.
Sophie Méthot—Manager, Human Resources and Payroll at Omnitrans and Member of WiG’s Parity Certification Committee—will moderate the public Q&A session.

Susannah Crabtree is a Partner and a Member of the Canadian Leadership Team at Mercer Canada. She leads a national consulting team who focuses on helping clients develop strong talent strategies by engaging, developing and, rewarding their people to build brighter futures. Susannah supports her local community as Board Chair of the YMCA/YWCA of the National Capital Region and as a Trustee for WISE Trust. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours from McGill University, and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. She has also completed the Director’s Education Program offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors.
France Dufresne is an accomplished Market Leader at Willis Towers Watson (WTW) for Employee Experience and M&A, and a member of the Canadian Leadership Team. A strategic partner to clients and colleagues, a mentor of numerous next generation leaders, she assists organizations in accomplishing their business and people strategies. She has 30 years of experience in designing and implementing solutions associated to transformation, leadership effectiveness, culture evolution, employee experience leading to business performance. She is a Canadian Human Resources Leader, honoured by the CHRA for her engagement to the advancement of the profession, an MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal. France is also a ballet master and choreographer and has trained dancers for over 40 years.
Ly Nguyen is the Co-Lead for Accenture Canada’s Women Employee Resource Group (ERG). As a Vietnamese female immigrant, Ly has experienced and overcome the many challenges that relate to gender parity, diversity, and inclusion. In her role as the Women’s ERG lead, she is committed to champion diversity, promote belonging and ensure all women can bring their whole selves to their work at Accenture. Ly is the Canadian Blockchain Lead at Accenture with a passion to help organizations to understand the applications of blockchain and how to unlock the benefits of this emerging technology to drive growth and innovation. In 2021, she was recognized as one of Canada’s top Women in Fintech and Blockchain by IT World Canada.
Nicole Piggott has spent her career promoting inclusive workplaces. Before being appointed Chief Operating Officer at Women in Governance (WiG) and Co-Founder, Synclusiv, Nicole held leadership positions at Bombardier Aerospace, RioTinto, Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOCC) and FedEx Canada. Nicole has implemented and overseen all aspects of Human Resources, from policies, programs and practices aimed at fostering more inclusive and motivating work environments. In 2017, Nicole co-led the development of the Gender Parity Certification at WiG; she has since led the expansion into the United States. Nicole is Board Chair of Impact (formerly Partnership Africa Canada), the Vice-Chair of Black Academic Scholarship Fund which her mother founded in 1994 and a member of the Board of the National Safety Council. She is co-lead for the McGill University Goodman Cancer Research Center Public Lecture Series. Nicole is also an advisor to Global Affairs Canada and the CN-Paul Tellier chair of the University of Ottawa on gender and diversity issues.
Catherine Diplock has worked in Telecom and Engineering industries in Operational and Human Resource capacities. Catherine’s aim has always been to lead inclusive and cohesive teams where her door is always open. She is passionate about equity and women’s issues and has found a perfect way to help others move the needle on these issues by guiding them through the Parity Certification process since joining Women in Governance. Catherine is inspired by the endeavours and follow-through demonstrated by our participants and continues to learn how best practices can be implemented to create diverse and inclusive environments. She has a passion for life-long learning with post graduate certificates in Applied Organizational Leadership & Development, Project Management and is working towards her Human Resource Management Certificate.
Sophie Méthot has cumulated several years in human resources, both as a generalist and in specialized roles, such as compensation and benefits. She is currently Manager, Human Resources and Payroll at Omnitrans, a company that specializes in customs brokerage and logistics. Sophie has also worked in multinational companies and has experience abroad. Diversity, Inclusion and Equity are undeniably connected, and they are an integral part of human resources as well as Women in Governance’s mission. It is for this reason that Sophie made human resources her career, and she is very proud to be part of WiG and to be involved in its various activities for three years now.
ABOUT OUR PARITY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Women in Governance (WiG) is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 to support women in their leadership development, career advancement and access to Board seats. The organization fulfills its mission through advocacy, major events, governance training, and mentoring programs, as well as the first North American Parity Certification. Created in 2017 with the pro bono support of McKinsey & Company, this valuable tool helps organizations assess what their current status is as it relates to gender parity, diversity, and inclusion.
